Overland Park, KS - The National Auctioneers Association Education Institute (NAAEI) announces that Michael Hoffman, of Michael Hoffman & Associations, Pickerington, OH, has earned the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) designation, the most highly respected education designation in the auction industry.   

Fewer than 5 percent of auctioneers nationwide achieve CAI status. 

Designed for leaders in the auction industry and auction firm decision-makers, CAI is a three-year executive development program offered at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.  Enrollment is limited to professional auctioneers with several years of experience, and is focused on developing the skills and providing the tools required to run a top-notch auction firm.  

• CAI graduates have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality services to all types of clients.  
   
• A CAI designation informs attorneys, trust officers, government officials, financial planners, accountants, real estate professionals and others that the CAI designation holder is an astute business person who upholds the highest professional standards.

CAI courses are taught by some of the most distinguished auction professionals in the country, and include courses in management skills, business ethics, finance, strategic planning, marketing and more.  

CAI designees must adhere to a strict code of ethics and standards of practice, and complete a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education courses every three years. 

In addition to CAI, Hoffman holds Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE) and Certified Estate Specialist (CES) designations.  He has also recently completed coursework in personal property appraisal and benefit auctions.
